Amenity highlights: The nightly oceanfront luau is a must for guests, and visitors from all over Maui come too. The tennis ranch is world-class. Gardens, graced by fragrant plumeria trees, provide shade everywhere. Ample lawns offer semi-private sunbathing on lounge chairs. The beach is just a few steps down from the resort's grounds. Dancing to live musical entertainment breaks out on the pool deck in front of the Royal Ocean Terrace restaurant during dinner. Oceanside massage is available under a thatched roof by the pool. Snorkel sets, boogie boards, aqua eyes (boogie boards with an inset face mask), scuba gear, kayaks, and inflated rafts can be rented on Kaanapali Beach. From the beach, catamarans offer whale-watching trips during the winter and snorkeling and scuba excursions as well as dinner cruises year-round. Two public, tournament-grade golf courses lie across the street from the resort, and there are three other courses at Kapalua 7 miles north. The resort contains a large Tennis Ranch, including a stadium court for tournaments. West Maui, either at the Royal Lahaina Resort or within the Kaanapali community, features skydiving, parasailing, helicopter/airplane sightseeing, nature/wildlife tours, and submarine excursions, in addition to the following recreational activities listed below.
